The Miami FC vs Loudoun United

The Miami FC vs Loudoun United

Another week for The Miami FC desperately looking to get back in the win column. At this point in the season it is believed that the season is long and any chance of coming back for a playoff push is close to nothing. At this point for Miami it's playing for pride and for the fan base that shows out to FIU Stadium week in and week out. This time Miami would take a road trip up to Virginia to face Loudoun United looking for a result.

This is how you want to start a match if you're Miami with the visiting side scoring just two minutes into the match. Rocco Genzano would be the man to get his team on the scoresheet after Allen Gavilanes played a ball finding the head of Genzano putting it past the keeper for 1-0. The problem for Miami all season long has been holding onto leads. Scoring early in the match just leaves a whole lot of time for the opponent to come back.

Everything seemed to be going well with Miami keeping Loudoun at bay but the end of the first half would prove the turning point of the match. In stoppage time a penalty would be awarded to United with Abdellatif Aboutkoura steeping up to the spot and equalizing the match 1-1. That wouldn't be the end of the half with Frankie Lopez receiving a red card for arguing a decision sending Miami to the dressing room with 10 men.

Things would go from bad to worse in the second half with Nico Cardona also picking up a red card leaving Miami now to just nine men. When this happens it's almost like a power play in hockey giving the advantage to the team at full strength. From this moment on it was all Loudoun United controlling almost everything in the match.

Despite a missed penalty from United, they were able to go on and find three more goals to seal the match 4-1 capturing the three points. A match that seemed to start off so positive for Miami ended in a nightmare leaving the search for a victory to continue. There needs to be questions on how Miami can correct the ship and if the coaching staff has any solutions or answers to the ongoing problems.

Next up for The Miami FC is a road match at the weekend facing El Paso Locomotive.
