Inter Miami CF vs Houston Dynamo
The first road match of the MLS season arrived for Inter Miami CF as well as its first appearance on the new Sunday night soccer time slot for Apple TV. Miami would be without Lionel Messi due to load management which prompted the Houston Dynamo to give its fans a free ticket to another match due to the inconvenience. The Herons enter the match after a dissatisfying draw against NYCFC at home with Tomas Aviles picking up a red card. The Dynamo enter this match after opening up the season with a 2-1 defeat to FC Dallas.
Miami fired on all cylinders despite Messi missing the match and the action started early in the first half. Obafemi Awodesu fired off a poor pass that would be deflected by Benjamin Cremaschi which found its way over to Luis Suarez. Suarez would find Telasco Segovia on the cross and would fire a shot past Andrew Tarbell to open the scoring giving Miami the 1-0 lead.
Suarez would make things happen finding himself on the ball firing a pass over to Tadeo Allende who took the ball on a sprint. Allende would fire a remarkable shot while being marked into the top corner past Tarbell to double the Miami lead to 2-0 in the 37th minute. The pressure from Yannick Bright allowed him to come away with a steal giving a pass to Suarez who transitioned the ball over to Segovia through traffic was able to fire off a shot and score to make it 3-0 heading into halftime.
The Dynamo would not be shutout as they found the back of the net in the 85th minute through newcomer from Seattle Nicolas Lodeiro getting a shot deflected off of Oscar Ustari to get one goal in this match. Of course this was after Luis Suarez finished off his great night getting a goal of his own in the 79th minute. At the end of the match Ian Fray found himself in a scuffle picking up a red card making it two matches and two red cards for Miami. The Herons went on to defeat the Houston Dynamo comfortably by a final score of 4-1.
