Who Are We
PlugTalkSports was created and founded in 2018 with a simple Instagram page by Daniel Torres. The goal of PlugTalk is to provide South Florida sports news as they happen. In 2019 the team expanded as well as a visual podcast that started out of Daniel's garage. Today, PlugTalkSports has a team of three producing written articles as well as participating in the PlugTalkSports live show every Monday nights sponsored by Qualified Data Systems and Grumen Barbershop and Spa.
Meet The Team
Daniel Torres- Founder of PlugTalkSports. Daniel was one of the voices of Florida International University athletics from 2019-2021. He became the youngest commentator in Major League Soccer history during the 2021 season broadcasting for Inter Miami CF. Mr. Torres mentored award winning program CCNN Live at his alma mater Christopher Columbus High School where he helped win a national broadcast championship and helped have the best sports commentary team in the country for three consecutive years. In 2022, he was appointed as the first ever voice of Miami-Dade College Athletics serving for one year. In 2023 Mr. Torres was appointed as the voice of Barry University Athletics.
Giancarlo Morera- Born and raised in the 305. He is part owner of his famous family Cuban restaurant Enriquetas Sandwich Shop located in the heart of the midtown district of Miami. Mr. Morera is a die-hard sports fan and a participant of the PlugTalkSports live show. He is a graduate of Pinecrest Preparatory Middle High School.
Brandon Hernandez- A writer for PlugTalkSports and participant in the live show. Brandon is a current undergraduate student at the University of Florida majoring in sports journalism. He spent two-years at Florida International University broadcasting multiple events as a student. Hernandez is a graduate from Everglades High School.
