Miami Heat vs New York Knicks
The New York Knicks have found success this season currently sitting third in the Eastern Conference leaving the thought that they can be contenders. It's always a packed house at the Kaseya Center when New York visits Miami with the arena being split 50/50. The rivalry between these two franchises has been ongoing since the 90's and never dies despite how either team may be performing. The Heat are looking to make it three consecutive victories after defeating Atlanta and Indiana.
Bam Adebayo had a stellar night putting together 30 points one of his best games so far this season meanwhile Tyler Herro helped out with 22 points. Both Kel'el Ware and Alec Burks would enter finishing with 12 points. Finishing out the starting lineup for Miami was Davion Mitchell scoring 11 points. Off the bench for the Heat would be Duncan Robinson providing some useful minutes clocking in with 10 points.
For the New York Knicks it was Jalen Brunson topping the scoring leaderboard finishing the game with 31 points. O.G. Anunoby would follow Brunson finishing the night with 23 points. New addition to the Knicks this season Karl-Anthony Towns checked into the lineup contributing with 19 points followed by Josh Hart who finished with 14 points. Closing out the New York starting lineup was Mikal Bridges scoring five points. Off the bench for the Knicks it was Miles McBride providing his team with 12 points.
The Knicks would trail the Heat by 17 at halftime in which we all know not to get excited because Miami has struggled all season long with maintaining a lead in the second half. New York ended the third quarter going on a 17-5 run erasing the deficit. The Knicks would take their first lead with two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter 101-100. Both Andrew Wiggins and Jaime Jaquez Jr would miss this game dealing with sprained ankles.
The Knicks down four behind Anunoby and Brunson's tip-in and jumper would force OT in South Beach. New York was outscored by 20 points in the paint but would regain the advantage through overtime 58-56 which is a remarkable stat showing how Miami gave up the lead. Brunson's three-pointer with two minutes remaining in OT put his team up 111-110 and would go on a 7-0 run. The Knicks come back and defeat the Heat 116-112.
Up next for the Miami Heat is a home game welcoming the Washington Wizards to the Kaseya Center.
