The Miami FC vs Tampa Bay Rowdies

The losing streak continues for The Miami FC as the last time out it was a big defeat at the hands of Memphis 901. One thing you can credit this Miami team for despite the results is the grit to continue fighting and wanting to put goals on the board. You can tell the players haven't quit on the coaching staff by not caring and just tanking. They've been unlucky with a lot of these results but have also not played the best soccer. They went on the road this past weekend visiting their arch rivals the Tampa Bay Rowdies for the second time this season.

The Tampa Bay Rowdies have suffered two consecutive defeats at home in the past week as they prepared to welcome their rivals Miami. The first meeting of the season in April resulted in a 5-2 victory for the Rowdies which included a Miami red card. The first 45 minutes for Tampa resulted in five shots overwhelming the Miami defense as well in possession.

First blood in this match would not arrive until the 61st minute and it would be drawn by the home team. Damian Rivera easily dribbled through the Miami defense finding Manuel Arteaga with a pass who would drill it in the back of the net to make it 1-0. Arteaga now has 14 goals tied at the top of the league with the most.

The roles would be reversed in the 72nd minute with Rivera sneaking through the midfield past the Miami defenders slipping a ball in to Arteaga fighting off a defender and returning the pass right back to Rivera who buried a shot to make it 2-0. This was Rivera's third only start as he is on loan from the New England Revolution. The Rowdies get a shutout and all three points to defeat Miami by the final score of 2-0.

Next up for The Miami FC is a home match welcoming Monterey Bay FC to Pitbull Stadium.
