The Miami FC vs Loudoun United

The Miami FC vs Loudoun United

The search for points continues for The Miami FC as they're now on a seven-match losing streak with the last loss coming at the hands of FC Tulsa. They were off to a great start to that match but would bottle the lead with Tulsa gaining the comeback victory. Next up is Loudoun United who enter FIU Stadium after a 1-1 draw against the Las Vegas Lights. United currently sits 7th in the Eastern Conference meanwhile Miami sits dead last in 12th.

The match would start with an hour delay due to thunderstorms in the area of FIU Stadium. Miami came out the gate running bringing the pressure to the United defense. Mikey Lawerence and Frankie Lopez were essential in the attack creating opportunities for the home side. The ball was hard to control because of the wet surface due to rain creating a much faster paced match.

The Loudoun United defense would break just 11 minutes into the match with Frankie Lopez getting on the scoresheet. Mitrano would play a perfect through ball finding Lopez who would fight off his defender firing a shot past the keeper to the far post to make it 1-0.

The 26th minute provided another spark for the home side with Mikey Lawerence doubling the lead for his team. Lopez would find Lawerence who seemed to have halted the attack but found space on a quick turn sneaking the ball past the keeper on the near post. Miami would go into the dressing room with a 2-0 lead.

It was a tale of two halves with Loudoun United exiting the dressing room inspired making another Miami collapse with a lead. A failed clearance from the Miami defense in the 51st minute would fall at the feet of Aboutkoura who hit a precious volley with no chance for the keeper making it 2-1. They always say a 2-0 lead is the most dangerous in all of soccer.

Just two minutes later it would be another blunder for Miami with Loudoun's Bidois finding his head at the end of a cross which floated way over the keeper finding the back of the net to make it 2-2. Within two minutes the 2-0 advantage for Miami was decimated. The scoreline would hold with both teams sharing the points. Miami earns itself a point its first in the last seven matches but still searches for a victory.

Next up for The Miami FC is a home match welcoming Detroit City to FIU Stadium at the weekend.
