Miami Heat vs Minnesota Timberwolves
After a buzzer beater from Jimmy Butler against his former team the Chicago Bulls, it was time for a much bigger challenge. Miami would welcome another one of Butlers former teams the Minnesota Timberwolves who currently sit first in the Western Conference.
Finally, Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro returned after a long time out dealing with injuries and would finish the game combining for 47 points. Herro would go for 25 points with Adebayo going for 22 points and Butler finishing with 15. The supporting cast of Duncan Robinson and Josh Richardson would go for 14 and 13 points.
Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards would score 32 points with Karl Anthony-Towns finishing the night with 18 points as he dealt with foul trouble. The Wolves supporting cast Naz Reid would finish the night with 15 points and Mike Conley would add 12 with 16 rebounds.
It was another cause of a recurring theme for the Miami Heat this season where they squander big leads late in games. The Heat were up 17 in the second half and would lose the lead as the Timberwolves mounted an incredible comeback proving why they're first in the west.
Miami only managed nine points in the opening eight minutes of the second half also showing why Minnesota is the number one team defensively in the league. The Wolves would take the lead off of a Conley three pointer with eight minutes remaining and would not look back. Minnesota would go on to defeat Miami by a final score of 112-108.
Next up for the Miami Heat is a road trip up the state to visit the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night at the Amway Center.
