Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics

 Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics

We can now officially say that the Jimmy Butler era is over for the Miami Heat with Miami's newest trade assets being made available. Miami last suffered a defeat against the Brooklyn Nets where they had an awful final quarter being outscored 31-9. The Heat welcome their arch rivals the Boston Celtics who currently sit second in the Eastern Conference. Boston enters this game against Miami after defeating the Knicks on the road 131-104.

Bam Adebayo was the leader in scoring for Miami leading the way with 22 points followed by Alec Burks who finished the night with 13 points. New member of the Miami Heat Andrew Wiggins was inserted to the starting lineup and contributed with 11 points. The rookie Kel'el Ware would finish the night with eight points and round out the starting lineup was Davion Mitchell another newcomer finishing with four points. Leading the Heat off the bench was Nikola Jovic who's been the teams six man finished the game with 10 points.

For the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics the lead man was Jayson Tatum with a stellar night dropping 33 points on Miami. Kristaps Porzingis would follow suit and finished the night scoring 17 points with Al Horford following with 16 points. Sam Hauser would finish his night dropping 15 points and closing the starting lineup for the Celtics would be Derrick White with 13 points. Off the bench for Boston leading the way was Payton Pritchard finishing the game with five points.

The Heat struggled shooting from the field with a percentage of 33.7% and was held under 90 points in each of the last five times Miami has faced Boston. Both Tyler Herro and Jaime Jaquez Jr would miss the game due to illness. The Celtics have defeated the Heat the last five meetings which goes all the way back to the playoffs last season and none of the games have been close. It's fair to say that the Celtics have gotten the best of the rivalry in the past year.

Jaylen Brown and Jrue Holiday would both miss the game with Brown having a swelling right knee and Holiday nursing a shoulder injury. Miami's new additions would five for 25 from the field and two for 13 from beyond the arch. The Heat were leading 24-13 but the Celtics would go on a 26-5 run throughout seven minutes. It is the 69th time in Heat history that they would shoot less than 35% as the Celtics defeat the Heat 103-85.

Up next for the Miami Heat is a road game visiting the Oklahoma City Thunder.
