Miami Heat vs Oklahoma City Thunder
The Miami Heat are currently riding a two-game losing streak after falling to the Brooklyn Nets and then getting demolished at home by the Boston Celtics. Miami would go out on a two-game road trip right before hitting the All-Star break which will be necessary for this team especially it allows time for the new acquisitions to get adjusted. The Heat start out the road trip visiting the best team in the Western Conference and the best team in the entire league the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Bam Adebayo once again makes his presence known improving from the beginning of the season scoring 27 points in this game. Both Davion Mitchell and Tyler Herro would drop 14 points as Herro returned to the lineup after missing the last game with a stomach bug. The new member of the Miami Heat Andrew Wiggins would contribute with 13 points and closing the starting lineup would be Kel'el Ware finishing with seven points. Both Alec Burks and Nikola Jovic would both come off the bench scoring 11 points.
Leading the team in scoring for the Thunder and the team's main man is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dropping 32 points. Coming in second is Jalen Williams who would contribute with 18 points and would be followed by Luguentz Dort finishing the game with 17 points. Aaron Wiggins dropped in with 11 points and closing out the Thunder lineup was Isaiah Hartenstein who would score just eight points. Coming off the bench for OKC would be Kenrich Williams scoring 14 points.
OKC was stunned by the fight Miami came out with and dominated the first half but we all know the Thunder aren't the best team for nothing as well as the history this season of the Heat blowing second half leads. The Heat were leading 58-37 but the Thunder would cut the deficit to 63-52 after a three at the buzzer by Gilgeous-Alexander at halftime. Miami would shoot a positive 58% from the field in the first half. The Thunder's high intensity defense would wear down the Heat in the second half and would cut the deficit little by little.
The Heat would lead the Thunder 93-83 at the ending of the third quarter but entering the final quarter Miami would be held scoreless for six minutes. Gilgeous-Alexander would hit a three-pointer to give the Thunder the lead 96-93 with under 10 minutes to play. OKC would go 13 of 23 from the field in the final quarter meanwhile the Heat made only three of 18. The Thunder would go on to defeat the Heat by a final score of 115-101.
Next up for the Miami Heat is a road game visiting the Dallas Mavericks.
