Miami Heat vs Atlanta Hawks

Miami Heat vs Atlanta Hawks

With the final stretch of the season the Miami Heat sit in a play-in spot sitting in 9th in the Eastern Conference after falling a couple of games below .500. One of the worst games of the season for Miami arrived at the weekend with the Heat only scoring 86 points in a defeat to the Hawks. A turnaround with the two teams meeting again this time at the Kaseya Center. The Hawks are right there with the Heat fighting for a play-in spot and potentially a solidified playoff spot.

Duncan Robinson had a massive game for the Heat alongside Tyler Herro with both players scoring 24 points in a game where Miami wanted to make a statement. Both Bam Adebayo and Davion Mitchell entered the scoreboard scoring 20 points. Andrew Wiggins came in next scoring 15 points on the night and closing out the starting lineup was Kel'el Ware finishing with 12 points. Behind Robinson off the bench it was Haywood Highsmith contributing with 14 points.

Leading the way this time around for the Hawks was Dyson Daniels who finished the game with 18 points followed by Trae Young with 17 points. Onyeka Okongwu who led the scoring for Atlanta last game clocked in with just 13 points this time. Zaccharie Risacher entered the lineup finishing the game with 11 points and closing out the Hawks lineup was Mouhamed Gueye with just five points. Off the bench for the Hawks was Caris LeVert contributing with 17 points.

This was probably the best shooting display of the season from the Miami Heat shooting making 23 three-pointers just one shy of the franchise record. Miami would also have 39 assists on 45 field goals. The Hawks are 6-22 this season when they give up 120 points or more to an opponent. When they hold an opponent to 119 or less they're currently 21-10. This game was a start of a home span for Miami playing nine out of the next 10 games at the Kaseya Center.

What really helped the Heat was going on a 23-6 run to close out the third quarter and heading into the final period with a 107-93 lead. The Heat would tie the franchise record of having 107 points through three quarters previously hit in 1991 and 2024. 200 points scored through three quarters making it the fourth most in a Heat game. Miami goes on to get revenge and defeat the Hawks by a final score of 131-109.

Next up for the Miami Heat is a home game welcoming the Indiana Pacers to the Kaseya Center.
