 Florida Panthers vs Edmonton Oilers 



The second and final meeting for the season between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers who battled it out for the Stanley Cup last season going the distance of seven games with Florida clinching their first in franchise history. The last time the two teams met was in December with the Panthers taking the victory 6-5. Last time out for the Panthers it was a 4-1 victory over the Predators with Edmonton falling 4-1 to the Tampa Bay Lightning. 










No goal would come in the first period until 12 minutes had passed by with Balinskis getting his fourth goal of the season giving Florida the 1-0 lead. Just two minutes later the Oilers would equalize through Kulak finding the back of the net assisted by Podkolzin making it 1-1. The first period would come to a close with both teams at a deadlock. 













The game was action filled in the second period with the next goal arriving 15 minutes in by way of Lundell for Florida earning his 14th of the season giving the Panthers the 2-1 lead. The back and forth would continue with Draisaitl equalizing the game assisted Klingberg making the game 2-2. We went into the final period locked up keeping everyone on pins and needles just like the Stanley Cup Finals. 
















The Panthers once again strike first through Nate Schmidt assisted by Greer 11 minutes into the final period giving the home team the lead once again making it 3-2. Carter Verhaeghe would double the lead for Florida putting them in a prime position to win the game with the score being 4-2. Edmonton would draw one back through Hyman getting his 20th goal of the season making it 4-3. That would be the final score of the game with the Panthers taking the victory 4-3 sweeping the season series with Edmonton.














Next up for the Florida Panthers is a home game welcoming the Calgary Flames to the Amerant Bank Arena.
