Florida Panthers vs Nashville Predators
It was a tough night for the Florida Panthers offensively last time out falling at home to the Seattle Kraken by a score of 2-1. The absence of Matthew Tkachuk was felt in terms of his goal scoring and goal creating abilities. Tkachuk will be out for some time which allows Florida to go out and bring in some help during the NHL deadline. The Panthers would turn their focus to a road trip heading up north to the music city to face the Nashville Predators.
It didn't take long for the Panthers on the road with the man that tied it up against the Americans for the Canadians in Sam Bennett making it a 1-0 lead off of a power play. Spencer Knight was in goal for Florida making 18 saves on the night. Aleksander Barkov also had a good night chiming in with two assists. Juuse Saros was in goal for Nashville making 21 saves as the Predators try to get back in the win column.
In the second period with his first goal ever in his NHL career it was Sourdif assisted by Boqvist extending the Florida lead to 2-0. Knight has now won three consecutive starts and is also now 3-0-0 against the Predators. Predators captain Roman Josi would miss the third period after being slammed hard into the boards. The Panthers would improve their record to 22-3-0 when they are out in front after the conclusion of the first period.
The Predators would get one in the third period through McCarron making it his third goal of the season assisted by Sissons making it 2-1. Hope for Nashville would end just five minutes later with Forsling finding the back of the net doubling the Florida lead once again to 3-1. Samoskevich would put the game to bed with his ninth goal of the season to make it a 4-1 Florida lead. The Panthers go back into the victory column after the 4-1 thrashing of the Predators.
Up next for the Florida Panthers is a home game welcoming the Edmonton Oilers to Amerant Bank Arena.
