Miami Heat vs Atlanta Hawks

 Miami Heat vs Atlanta Hawks

It was the second night of a back-to-back for the Miami Heat who currently have a 1-5 record since trading Jimmy Butler. The Heat blew a 14-point lead to the Milwaukee Bucks making it the 14th game this season where Miami has blown a lead when leading by 10 or more. Miami is second in this category which is not something to be proud of. The Heat would continue this road trip stopping in the peach state visiting the Atlanta Hawks.

It was a really tough night offensively for this Heat team with Andrew Wiggins leading the way scoring 23 points. Bam Adebayo struggled as well on the night only putting up 14 points. The most surprising was Tyler Herro who's been on a tear this season finished the game with just 11 points. Kel'el Ware after a good game struggled once again finishing the night with eight points. Closing out the starting lineup would be Davion Mitchell chiming in with six points. Leading Miami off the bench was new addition Kyle Anderson finishing with 14 points.

The main difference in this game was the Atlanta bench outscoring the Miami bench in which Milwaukee would do the same the night before. Both Caris LeVert and Terance Mann would come off the bench contributing 15 points. Onyeka Okongwu led all scorers for the Hawks finishing the night with 17 points. Trae Young who got a technical in this game finished the night with 11 points. Dyson Daniels contributed finishing with 10 points.

The Hawks allowed the fewest points in years since a 100-82 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers in March of 2021. The Hawks would move past Miami for 8th in the Eastern Conference as both teams are jumping around the play-in spots. Erik Spoelstra since adding new players from the trade deadline has not been able to find a lineup that's given success.

With just three minutes remaining in the game the Hawks leading by just six would successfully win a challenge that would eliminate two Heat three throws. Mann would go on to hit a three-pointer extending the lead for the Hawks to 93-84. Atlanta on the second night of a back-to-back as well allowed Detroit to shoot 59% from the field but in this game kept Miami to a season low 32%. The Hawks would go on to defeat the Heat 98-86.

Next up for the Miami Heat is a home game welcoming the Atlanta Hawks to the Kaseya Center.
