Miami Heat vs Milwaukee Bucks

 Miami Heat vs Milwaukee Bucks

Once again the Jimmy Butler and Miami Heat drama continues and takes center stage. The Heat decided to suspend Butler once again this time for two games after missing a team flight. Miami embarked on a two-game road trip in which Butler planned to fly on his own and rejoin the team later that night in Milwaukee. The suspension made it clear that Butler is not above any of his teammates in being able to fly alone. The Heat would play the Bucks who had their own troubles with travel being stuck in New Orleans due to the recent winter storm which prompted the league to push tipoff back by an hour.

For the Heat leading the way in scoring was rookie Kel'el Ware who has impressed many since he got the nod from Spoelstra to join the starting lineup. The rookie finished the night with 22 points followed by Tyler Herro dropping 21 points in his return to his hometown. Herro awaits word from the NBA to see if he will be selected as an NBA All-Star this season even though it won't be as a starter. Bam Adebayo continues to struggle this year finishing this game with 11 points. Nikola Jovic continues to be the top man off the bench scoring eight points in this one.

The duo connection for the Milwaukee Bucks was in full swing Thursday night and its nights like this that show you why the Bucks paired them together. Giannis Antetokounmpo finished the night with 25 points with Damian Lillard who was a Heat target would torch Miami in this game with 29 points. Brook Lopez would follow suit dropping just 11 points as both Andre Jackson Jr and Taurean Prince finished the starting lineup with three points. Off the bench for Milwaukee it was Gary Trent Jr finishing with 21 points followed by Bobby Portis with 16 points.

The ending of the second quarter was really pivotal in what ultimately decided this game. The Heat had brought the game to just down three but in a span of two minutes the Bucks pushed their lead all the way to 10 into the break and would never look back. The Heat started off well despite missing Butler and had the Bucks down 18-3 in the first quarter. It proved too much for Miami as for the fifth straight game the Bucks would surpass 120 points.

Lillard would go on and score six points in the final 1.1 seconds of that opening half to extend the Milwaukee lead to 71-55. He was fouled from way beyond the arch by Robinson prompting three free throws. Ware would commit a turnover on an inbound pass allowing Lillard to hit a corner three. Although he finished with 29 points, Lillard started off this game scoreless for the first 18 minutes. The Bucks go on to defeat the Heat 125-96 despite the disruption from travel.

Up next for the Miami Heat is a road game visiting the Brooklyn Nets.
