Miami Heat vs Brooklyn Nets
It was a very ugly outing the last time out for the Miami Heat as they visited the Milwaukee Bucks in the first of two road games. The Heat got absolutely demolished by the Bucks 125-96 even with the Bucks getting home just an hour before tip it didn't take a role. Miami moved on to face the Brooklyn Nets in the second game of the Jimmy Butler suspension. The Nets have struggled this season currently sitting in 12th of the Eastern Conference.
Tyler Herro led the way for the Heat finishing the game with 25 points followed by Bam Adebayo who concluded his night with 17 points. Duncan Robinson finished third in scoring in the starting lineup finishing the game with 15 points. Kel'el Ware struggled on the offensive end against Brooklyn only bringing in seven points as well as Haywood Highsmith who scored zero points. Off the bench for Miami it was Nikola Jovic with 17 points and Terry Rozier with 16 points.
There were two lead scorers for the Nets in this game with both De'Angelo Russell and Keon Johnson both finishing the game with 22 points. Nic Claxton and Noah Clowney would both equal the same number both scoring 13 points on the night. Closing out the Nets starting lineup was Jalen Wilson contributing with 12 points. Leading the Nets off the bench was Day'Ron Sharpe finishing the game with just seven points.
The Heat committed an outstanding 22 turnovers all while shooting 13 for 28 from beyond the arch (46%) and it is only the third time that Miami surpasses 45% in three-point shooting this season. It was an important night for the Nets organization with an extended halftime due to the jersey lifting of Vince Carter. Brooklyn would shoot 37% from the field going 14 for 40 from beyond the arch shooting 35%. They were competitive for in streak throughout the game but not consistent enough.
The Nets were down just four at halftime and found themselves down 11 earlier in the half but were able to even the game 61-61 in the midway point of the third quarter. Miami would respond with a 7-0 run to close the third quarter outscoring Brooklyn 21-7. The Nets have lost 10 straight home games and has not won since its 99-90 victory over the Pacers on December 4th. The Heat would go on to defeat the Nets by a final score of 106-97.
