Miami Heat vs Los Angeles Clippers

Miami Heat vs Los Angeles Clippers

Our thoughts and prayers this week have been directed towards the awful wildfires that have impacted the Los Angeles community. Many citizens including some players and coaches from local LA sports teams have lost their homes and everything in it. The Heat traveled to Los Angeles continuing their road trip to face the Clippers who will play for the first time after having two games postponed due to the wildfires. The Clippers most definitely would be going out there to play with a chip on their shoulders to play for the city.

Kevin Love would start in place of Bam Adebayo who was out injured with a lower back contusion after taking a hard fall.Love would finish the game with nine points along with Haywood Highsmith who also finished the game with nine points. Tyler Herro once again would lead the way for the Heat dropping 32 points for Miami. Terry Rozier who has received a lot of criticism from fans struggled in this game finishing with 11 points. Jaime Jaquez Jr finished the starting lineup finishing the game with 10 points. Coming off the bench for Miami it was Kel'el Ware contributing with 19 points.

The Clippers starting lineup did very well with Norman Powell leading the lineup with 29 points followed by James Harden with 26 points. Ivica Zubac would finish the game with 21 points putting the three leading scorers for Los Angeles out in front. Kawhi Leonard who recently returned did not have the strongest of games finishing with just six points. Wrapping up the starting lineup for the Clippers was Kris Dunn with just two points. Off the bench for Los Angeles former Heat player Derrick Jones Jr finished the game with nine points.

Leonard was pulled out of the game by Tyronn Lue who said Leonard's minutes would be restricted as he continues to get back into the rhythm. The Clippers would outscore the Heat 36-20 in the third quarter taking the lead from Miami 79-68. Los Angeles would make six three-pointers with a three coming from Harden and three by Powell. Harden would score eight points in a row to help the Clippers maintain the lead and not look back. Kevin Love although with just nine points did contribute with three 3-pointers on the night.

The Heat would fall to 3-2 on the current six-game road trip on the west coast. The Heat started off this game well in the first half but the Clippers would prove to be too much for Miami without Bam Adebayo. Miami's winning streak would end in Los Angeles with the Clippers defeating the heat 109-98.

Up next for the Miami Heat is a road game facing the Los Angeles Lakers.
