Miami Heat vs Cleveland Cavaliers

 Miami Heat vs Cleveland Cavaliers

The Miami Heat are coming off an exciting double OT victory over the Orlando Magic where we saw the likes of Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo come together and shine. Despite the Miami duo showing up, the rookie Kel'el Ware played a pivotal role in the victory as well as Duncan Robinson who had a good night as well. The victory helped Miami jump into the 6th position of the Eastern Conference. Miami now turned their eyes to welcoming the conference leaders in the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Tyler Herro once again led the Heat in scoring racking in 22 points as the focus from Jimmy Butler being the main man has shifted to Herro. Following him would be Bam Adebayo who stepped up once again finishing with 21 points. Duncan Robinson chipped in on the night finishing with 13 points followed by Haywood Highsmith contributing with 12 points. Kel'el Ware only taking six shots finished the game with just five points. Terry Rozier contributed immensely off the bench dropping 22 points.

Donovan Mitchell who was once a Miami Heat target walked into the Kaseya Center and dropped 34 points on the Heat. Evan Mobley contributed greatly as well complimenting Mitchell dropping 22 points and those two guys were the most impactful out of the Cleveland starting lineup. Jarrett Allen finished the night with 12 points followed by former Heat player Max Strus with eight points. Closing out the Cleveland lineup was Jaylon Tyson scoring just four points. Off the bench for Cleveland was Ty Jerome dropping 20 points.

The Cavaliers would improve to 29-2 when they hold opposing teams to 116 points or less and are 9-7 when they don't. Cleveland is also 33-0 this season when having the lead after three quarters. Darius Garland did not play for the Cavaliers getting a rest but it did not matter with the rest of the team picking up the slack. The Heat were held to just 41 points in the first half which would tie a season low and would score 43 points in the third quarter.

The Heat would get to within eight points early in the fourth quarter but the Cavaliers would then counter that and go on a 7-0 run in just 44 seconds. Mitchell would hit a three-pointer with 10 minutes left to make the score 101-86 and kept Cleveland in the control. This is the fourth time this season that the Heat don't gain the lead in a game. The Cavaliers would go on to confidently defeat the Heat with a final score of 126-106.

Up next for the Miami Heat is a road game visiting the San Antonio Spurs.
