Florida Panthers vs Anaheim Ducks
Sam Reinhart has come alive the last couple of games for the Florida Panthers leading the team in scoring. The Panthers are about to embark on a four-game road trip on the west coast against some worthy opponents who are currently playing well. The Panthers last game was a 3-0 shutout victory at home against the Anaheim Ducks. Florida now takes their attention and focus on playing Anaheim at their place to kick off the road trip on a positive note.
The first period was an eventful one and started with fireworks just four minutes in when the Ducks took advantage of a power play. Vatrano assisted by Terry who got the puck past Bobrovsky to make it 1-0 for the home team. Just four minutes later it was Sam Reinhart scoring his 28th goal of the season assisted by Matthew Tkachuk to equalize the game 1-1. Florida was not done in the first period with Evan Rodrigues getting on the board assisted by Greer making it 2-1. A minute later it was Carter Verhaeghe doubling the lead making it 3-1. Ducks would respond before the end of the period with McTavish assisted by Gudas making it 3-2.
Sergei Bobrovsky is 5-0 against the Ducks with a two-goal average against them and a .992 save percentage as a member of the Florida Panthers. Trevor Zegras finally made his return for the Ducks missing 22 games after having surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. Troy Terry would assist Vatrano in the first period making it Terry's 256th career point surpassing Adam Henrique for 10th in the franchise scoring list. There was no goals in the second period with the Panthers holding onto that 3-2 lead.
In the third period just 19 seconds into the period it was Sam Bennett finding his 14th goal of the season to double the Florida lead once again to 4-2. Just four minutes later the Panthers would put the dagger in the Ducks hearts with Balinskis assisted by Nosek making the game out of reach at 5-2. The Panthers with the victory over the Ducks 5-2 making it two consecutive have jumped the Devils in the standings and are now 4th in the Eastern Conference.
