Miami Heat vs Dallas Mavericks

 Miami Heat vs Dallas Mavericks

The month of November has been inconsistent for the Miami Heat dealing with injuries and closely contested games as well as coaching mistakes. Miami looks to improve at the end of this month with the last game being a 106-89 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. The Heat now turn their focus to welcoming the Dallas Mavericks to the Kaseya Center. Jimmy Butler was questionable due to an illness but decided he would play. Miami has done a lot better when Butler decides to turn on playoff Jimmy mode which makes Miami very difficult to defeat.

For the Miami Heat it was Jimmy Butler leading the way having a massive game finishing the night with 33 points which would be a season high. Butler would be followed by Bam Adebayo with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Kyrie Irving stated after the game that if you can score on Bam you can score on anyone in the league because of how good Bam is defensively. Tyler Herro who's had a fantastic start to the season finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

For the Dallas Mavericks it was Kyrie Irving leading the way with 27 points with 14 of those coming in the fourth quarter. P.J. Washington would follow Irving with 21 points as well as Naji Marshall who finished with 20 points. The Mavs newest addition Klay Thompson scored 15 points followed by Dereck Lively finishing the night with 14 points and 13 rebounds. The Mavericks were without Luka Doncic who's dealing with a sprained wrist.

The Mavericks have been many closely contested games this season with 11 out of their 17 being decided by eight points or less. The record for Dallas in those games is 4-7 and 5-1 in all the other games. Butler has scored 30 points in back-to-back games and would be the ninth time that Jimmy would have a multi-game streak of scoring 30 points. There was only eight lead changes in the entire game with both teams being able to hold leads.

This game would go to OT with Butler having a key moment in the game driving home a dunk with 4.4 seconds left in regulation with Miami challenging that Butler was fouled on the play which would be unsuccessful but sends the game to an extra period. Miami would handle business in OT bringing home the victory over the Mavericks 123-118. Butlers play in the fourth quarter and OT is what helped bring Miami to victory.

Next up for the Miami Heat is a home game welcoming the Milwaukee Bucks to the Kaseya Center.
