Miami Heat vs New York Knicks

Miami Heat vs New York Knicks

After that first loss to open up the new season it seems like the Miami Heat have found their groove. They took decisive victories over the Charlotte Hornets 114-106 and the Detroit Pistons 106-98. Next up into the new look Kaseya Center from a new scoreboard and lower level seats with a brand new Dwyane Wade statue right outside would be the new look New York Knicks. The Knicks were destroyed on opening night but the rivalry with Miami anything can happen.

For the Miami Heat it was Tyler Herro having a stellar night putting up 34 points which included hitting eight 3-pointers. Terry Rozier would follow boy wonder having 16 points followed by Jimmy Butler who would put up 15 points. Bam Adebayo had another slow night finishing with 11 points and Nikola Jovic who finished with 10 points. Kevin Love would once again be out due to personal reasons having not featured in any game this season.

For the New York Knicks it would be newly added Karl Anthony Towns destroying Miami finishing with 44 points and 13 rebounds. Star point guard Jalen Brunson would finish the night with 22 points with 18 of them coming in the second half. Mikal Bridges would tack on 17 points with OG Anunoby capping off the night with 11. Josh Hart would be next finishing the game with 10 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists.

Towns would be the fourth New York Knick with the most points against the Miami Heat. Jamal Crawford would score 52 in 2007 and we can't forget about Knicks legend Carmelo Anthony hitting 50 points in 2013. The latest was RJ Barrett hitting 46 points in 2022 as we can see it's not rare for New York star players to have stellar performances against Miami.

The Knicks rallied from down 13 thanks to efficient three-point shooting. Towns was four of five from behind the arch. This helped New York go on a 30-10 run making it a 87-80 lead. The third quarter so far this season for Miami has been atrocious shooting 27% and a combined score of 100-54 in the third this season. The Knicks would make it a comeback victory taking it 116-107 in South Beach dropping the Heat to 2-2 on the season.

Next up for the Miami Heat is a game in Mexico City taking on the Washington Wizards.
