Inter Miami CF vs New England Revolution

Inter Miami CF vs New England Revolution

After the international break just one game remains for Inter Miami CF on decision day. The Herons have a chance to make history. With a win, Miami would become the all-time points record holders in a season where they captured the supporters shield. FIFA has already confirmed that the club will be partaking in the Club World Cup this upcoming summer and will play at Hard Rock Stadium. Miami would welcome the New England Revolution who are the current holders of the points record.

Just two minutes into the match it was Luca Langoni who would shock the home team putting the Revolution up 1-0. In the 34th minute it would be the Revolution once again with Dylan Borrero this time being the man to find the back of the net to make it 2-0. Miami fans were worried that the chance to make history was fading away with New England opening up the two goal lead.

Miami dominated possession with 68% and would outshoot the Revolution 25-8 with it being 11-4 shots being on target. The New England defense finally gave way in the 40th minute with Luis Suarez getting on the board and would score again just two minutes later to equalize the match 2-2. In one half alone we would see four goals as both teams would head to the dressing room all knotted up.

The game would be blown open in the second half in favor of Miami and one of the games all time players would leave his mark. Lionel Messi would get a hat trick between the 78th and 89th minutes. Suarez would add on another goal as well making it 6-2. Miami would defeat New England by this final score and would go on to break the points record making history.

Next up for Inter Miami CF is a home playoff game at Chase Stadium hosting either CF Montreal or Atlanta United.
