The Miami FC vs Birmingham Legion

The Miami FC vs Birmingham Legion

Just five games remaining in what has been a very long and painful year for The Miami FC. Just one more home match but before that it's a three match road trip starting in Birmingham. It was a loss last time out for Miami falling 3-0 at home to Hartford Athletic. For Birmingham it was a 4-2 loss last time out against Loudoun United as they currently sit 5th in the Eastern Conference heading towards the playoffs.

In the first half Miami dominated possession with the defense doing a good job of holding off the Legion in anything they wanted to do in attack. There was no clear opportunities for either side and would send both teams into the dressing room at the half knotted up 0-0.

In the second half it was all Birmingham controlling the possession and having back-to-back chances at goal but Miami would hold. Khadim Ndiaye would come up with some important saves from shots that could've put the home team up. His efforts would keep the match at bay 0-0 with both teams having all to play for.

During stoppage time when everyone thought this match was heading to a scoreless draw, Birmingham said not so fast. Dawson McCartney would play a long ball finding Darwin Matheus who subbed in the 62nd minute would get past the Miami defense slotting one home for 1-0. The final whistle would blow shortly after with the home team just getting away with all three points.

Next up for The Miami FC is a road match visiting Indy Eleven.
