The Miami FC vs Rhode Island FC

The Miami FC vs Rhode Island FC

The fight in this Miami FC team has been resilient but they just have not been able to show the results for it and unfortunately this is a results driven business. After several new signings, Miami has decided to move on from Andrew Booth who played his college ball right on campus at Florida International University. Still searching for a victory, Miami would welcome Rhode Island FC who currently sit in 9th right outside of a playoff spot.

The home side was on the attacking front to start off the match with new signing Balogun almost finding Frankie Lopez to open up the scoring. Lopez missed just wide with the chance arriving in the 9th minute. Things would all change two minutes later in the 11th minute with Rhode Island finding a free kick in a dangerous position. Frank Nodarse would get his head at the end of the free kick putting it in the back of the net for 1-0.

After the first goal it would calm the match down with both squads enjoying moments of possession. For Miami defensively they would want to put a stop to anymore bleeding and keep the match 1-0. The end of the half would not end well for Miami with a controversial none call on the goalkeeper. A collision in the box would land the ball at the feet of Dikwa who would slot it home for 2-0 despite the calls for a foul from Miami.

The match seemed to be put to bed at the start of the second half with Dikwa leading Rhode Island on a counter attack and making Miami pay to make it 3-0. Miami bravely would not give up and their efforts would be rewarded in the 63rd minute with Lopez turning and shooting across goal to make it 3-1. Rhode Island had just taken their foot off the gas pedal a little bit.

Things would get interesting in the 78th minute with Miami finding the back of the net again as substitute Molina would receive a ball from Gavilanes firing it into the back of the net making it 3-2. Unfortunately, the hole was too deep to overcome and the comeback effort would fall short. Rhode Island would collect the three points on the road defeating Miami 3-2.

Next up for The Miami FC is a road trip at the weekend visiting the Charleston Battery.
