Miami Marlins vs Cincinnati Reds
It's been a long first half of the baseball season for the Miami Marlins who have the second worst record in all of Major League Baseball. With the All-Star break right around the corner the management and players are looking forward to hit the reset button and getting some rest. But before the break they would have to face the Cincinnati Reds in a weekend road series. The Marlins enter the series on a losing streak with players starting to show frustration and tension.
Game 1: Marlins 4-7 Reds
Yonny Chirinos vs Carson Spiers
Rece Hinds hits his first career homer in the majors to lead his team past Miami 7-4 to open up the series.
Game 2: Marlins 6-10 Reds
Edward Cabrera vs Andrew Abbott
Two more homers from Rece Hinds puts the Reds on top of the Marlins 10-6 taking the series victory.
Game 3: Marlins 3-2 Reds
Trevor Rogers vs Nick Lodolo
Xavier Edwards comes up with a clutch RBI single in the 8th saving the Marlins from the sweep and giving them the 3-2 victory.
Next up for the Miami Marlins is a much needed break as the league heads into All-Star week.
