Miami Marlins vs Philadelphia Phillies
As the Miami Marlins returned home from a horrid west coast road trip to open up a home series against the Philadelphia Phillies, they were greeted by fans protesting outside loanDepot Park. The Marlins who currently hold a 11-31 record the worst in all of the MLB come off being swept by the Dodgers. The Phillies enter the series 28-13 leading the division after splitting a two-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Game 1: Marlins 2-8 Phillies
Trevor Rogers vs Ranger Suarez
Suarez would throw for 7 innings scoreless meanwhile Castellanos and Rojas homer to give the Phillies the series opening 8-2 victory.
Game 2: Marlins 3-8 Phillies
Jesus Luzardo vs Taijuan Walker
A base clearing triple by Bryson Scott gave the Phillies the series victory with the 8-3 victory.
Game 3: Marlins 7-6 Phillies
Braxton Garrett vs Zack Wheeler
Emmanuel Rivera entered as a pinch-hitter in the 10th and would walk it off for the Marlins avoiding the sweep and taking the victory 7-6.
Next up for the Miami Marlins is a road series visiting the Detroit Tigers.
