Miami Marlins vs Pittsburgh Pirates

Finally, the 2024 Major League Baseball season has arrived and there's not a lot of hype around this Miami Marlins team but it's good to have baseball back. Fans were frustrated with the lack of players signed in the offseason to better the team. The organization has rolled out many fan interactions regarding the ballgame experience at loanDepot Park to get fans excited for the season. Things kicked off with a four-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Game 1: Marlins 5-6 Pirates

Jesus Luzardo vs Mitch Keller

It was a back and fourth game on Opening Day which saw the game head to extras. The game would be decided in the 12th with a RBI single from Jared Triolo giving the Pirates the season opening victory.

Game 2: Marlins 2-7 Pirates

A.J. Puk vs Martin Perez

It was another solid day from the Pirates bullpen on top of Ke'Bryan Hayes going for a single and RBI double helping Pittsburgh defeat Miami 7-2.

Game 3: Marlins 3-9 Pirates

Ryan Weathers vs Jared Jones

Jared Jones in his MLB debut would strikeout 10 Marlins batters to help his team win the series with a 9-3 victory.

Game 4: Marlins 7-9 Pirates

Trevor Rogers vs Bailey Falter

The Marlins give up a 5-0 lead as the Pirates complete the comeback winning 9-7 and complete the sweep of Miami.

Up next for the Miami Marlins is a home series welcoming the Los Angeles Angels to loanDepot Park.
