Miami Marlins vs New York Yankees
Only one victory so far on the season for the Miami Marlins with rumors starting to speculate around the clubhouse because of the poor start. Biggest rumor is that Marlins manager Skip Schumaker would be open to leaving the team after this season. Also, trade rumors as Luis Arraez name has been involved linked to the San Diego Padres. With all this going on the Marlins would enter the Bronx to take on the New York Yankees.
Game 1: Marlins 0-7 Yankees
Jesus Luzardo vs Nestor Cortes
Juan Soto and Anthony Volpe set the tone for the series as they both hit three-run homers to defeat the Marlins 7-0.
Game 2: Marlins 2-3 Yankees
A.J. Puk vs Carlos Rodon
Carlos Rodon allowed two runs through six innings plus a homer from Alex Verdugo helped the Yankees get the 3-2 victory and the series victory.
Game 3: Marlins 5-2 Yankees
Ryan Weathers vs Marcus Stroman
Jake Burger gets a three-run homer on his birthday to help the Marlins avoid the sweep and get the second victory of the season 5-2.
Next up for the Miami Marlins is a weekend series at home welcoming the Atlanta Braves.
