Miami Heat vs Dallas Mavericks

 Miami Heat vs Dallas Mavericks

The path to the 6th seed in the Eastern Conference for the Miami Heat is slim and would need help from around the league. The Heat need to win its final two games of the season against the Toronto Raptors and would need the Orlando Magic to lose its final two games two Philadelphia and Milwaukee. Miami welcomed the Dallas Mavericks after coming off a double OT victory over the Atlanta Hawks the night before.

Tyler Herro continues to shine in his return as he led the team in scoring with 21 points as this was not the best offensive performance from Miami. Kevin Love who's also back in the lineup after some time missed would finish the night with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Caleb Martin who posted a goose egg against Atlanta would get some points this time around with 14. Jimmy Butler who did not speak to the media after the game only scored 12.

Luka Doncic would have a massive game posting 29 points with 9 rebounds and 9 assists nearly posting another triple-double. It didn't help Miami that Kyrie Irving was also in a groove scoring 25 points as well as clinching his $1 million bonus. The starting lineup really helped Dallas as P.J. Washington, Derrick Jones Jr, and Daniel Gafford all had 12 points. The bench did not need to score as much as the starting five handled its business.

Once again as similar as it was in Atlanta, the Heat found itself having to fight back from 21 points as this game was all Dallas Mavericks and it never changed. Fans have begun to worry that this Heat team doesn't have enough and that Butler has been coasting all season and hasn't turned it up. Miami did fight back and would bring the game to eight but that was as close as they would get.

The Dallas Mavericks would defeat the Miami Heat 111-92 as the Mavericks will face the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the playoffs. For the Miami Heat its locked in that they can't do any worse then 7th in the conference with the final two games of the season coming up. Certainly Miami will once again have a difficult up hill battle to try to reach the NBA Finals once again.

Next up for the Miami Heat is a home game welcoming the Toronto Raptors to the Kaseya Center.
