Miami Heat vs Atlanta Hawks

 Miami Heat vs Atlanta Hawks

After a devastating loss on Sunday for the Miami Heat which was the biggest game of this season, it's important that Miami doesn't continue to fall and continues to put pressure. The Heat would continue the road trip going from Indiana to the peach state of Georgia where they would take on the Atlanta Hawks in which could be a potential play-in tournament matchup. Miami currently sitting 8th in the conference can still attain the 6th seed but the chance is very low.

Boy wonder Tyler Herro has been impressive ever since his return after missing 20 games due to injury. Herro would finish the game against the Hawks with 33 points followed by Jimmy Butler who would post 25 points and 9 assists. Nikola Jovic had an impressive game adding 23 points as well as 8 rebounds. Bam Adebayo would only score 10 points and Caleb Martin posting 0 points as they both struggled. Adebayo and Martin have struggled offensively as of late.

For the Hawks it was Dejounte Murray who was on the trade block this season but remained with Atlanta would finish the game with 29 points, 13 rebounds, and 13 assists. De'Andre Hunter was second on the box score finishing with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Bruno Fernando and Garrison Matthews helped Atlanta off the bench bringing in 12 and 11 points.

Atlanta had an advantage in second chance points as they outscored the Heat 23-2 and a 17-5 edge on the offensive glass. Butler scored the final ten points of the game as it ended tied as he wasted the clock giving the ball to Herro who missed badly on a three-point attempt. This was a game were the Hawks were in control and led by 12 at the break. Miami had to fight their way back into the game as they desperately did not want to drop this game.

The game would head to overtime with Murray having a chance to end it but would miss a three-point attempt and would send the game to a double overtime period. Miami would go ahead and secure the victory by a final score of 117-111 advancing to a 44-35 overall record. There is now three games remaining in the regular season.

Next up for the Miami Heat is a home game welcoming the Dallas Mavericks to the Kaseya Center.
