The Miami FC vs Tampa Bay Rowdies

It's been a struggle as of late for the Miami FC with a U.S. Open Cup match against Tormenta FC looming. The South Florida side is desperately trying to find some form so they can get back in the win column. The team would also make some moves to the roster hours before they took on their rivals the Tampa Bay Rowdies. As of late, Tampa has gotten the best of Miami but its a new season and a new chance get bragging rights back.

This match was nothing but a goal fest with opportunities galore presenting themselves for both clubs it was just a matter of who will capitalize. Rowdies forward Cal Jennings put on an impressive performance and really gave the Miami defense trouble. To make things worse, Miami goalie Daniel Gagliardi had to be subbed off due to injury. The match had it all even a red card for Miami that would leave them playing with 10 men.

The first goal of the match arrived in the 21st minute which you knew was coming after Tampa was just relentlessly knocking on the door. An unfortunate bounce for Miami on a cross found Jennings who slotted it home to make it 1-0 for the visitors. Just a few minutes later in the 25th minute it was a terrible mistake as an own goal would double the lead for the Rowdies 2-0.

Miami would be crushed right before halftime as Tampa would find another with an upper corner shot with no chance for the keeper to stop to make it 3-0. It now seemed like this match was in the books and left the home side heading to the dressing room puzzled. Miami would respond well at the beginning of the second half as Rocco Genzano would make it 3-1.

Unfortunately the goals would not stop there with Jennings hitting back at Miami on a counter attack finding the back of the net to make it 4-1. Allen Gavilanes had one bullet of a shot into the upper corner that one draw one back for the home side making it 4-2 giving some hope and life to the home crowd. The hope would be crushed with another Rowdies goal making it 5-2 which would be the final score.

Next up for The Miami FC is a home game in the U.S. Open Cup welcoming South Georgia Tormenta to FIU Stadium.
