Miami Marlins vs Los Angeles Angels
The worst start to a season in franchise history for the Miami Marlins as they finish opening weekend getting swept by the Pittsburgh Pirates. loanDepot Park was filled with 32,000 for opening day but would fall to 9,000 and 8,000 the rest of the weekend. Miami's bullpen rotation has been the definite weakness to the team. San Diego now has interest in acquiring Jesus Luzardo and Luis Arraez which would be a big hit to the team. Miami welcomed the Los Angeles Angels for the second series of the season.
Game 1: Marlins 4-7 Angels
Max Meyer vs Chase Silseth
Mike Trout would homer twice for the Angels helping his team rally and defeat the Marlins 7-4.
Game 2: Marlins 1-3 Angels
Jesus Luzardo vs Tyler Anderson
The highlight of game two was Tyler Anderson pitching seven scoreless innings as the Angels get the series win with the 3-1 victory.
Game 3: Marlins 2-10 Angels
A.J. Puk vs Patrick Sandoval
Taylor Ward gets a homer with the Angels getting the sweep with the 10-2 victory sending the Marlins reeling for the first victory of the season.
Next up for the Miami Marlins is the first road series of the season visiting the St. Louis Cardinals.
