Miami Heat vs New York Knicks

Miami Heat vs New York Knicks

A huge week is in store for the Miami Heat as they continue to fight for the 6th seed to try to avoid the play-in tournament. The Heat are riding a two-game winning streak over the Portland Trail Blazers and the Washington Wizards entering the final eight games of the season. The first challenge would be against the New York Knicks who currently sit 4th in the conference entering the Kaseya Center. This would be one of the two biggest games down the stretch.

Terry Rozier had a monster game when the Heat needed it most scoring 34 points while being 10 for 15 from the field and 8 for 11 from beyond the arch. Jimmy Butler would go ahead and score 17 points followed by Bam Adebayo who would tack on 15 points. Haywood Highsmith would have another great game with 14 points impressing head coach Erik Spoelstra.

New York was not short of scoring with Donte DiVincenzo who scored 31 points while Deuce McBride tacked on 24 points. The NBA rising star Jalen Brunson finished the game with 20 points and 10 assists. Bojan Bogdanovic would go ahead and add 16 points to the scoresheet coming off the bench while starters Josh Hart and Isiah Hartenstein struggled scoring just 2 and 4 points.

For the first time in a while it felt like the Heat had a healthy roster minus Tyler Herro and had Kevin Love back after a month. The Knicks continued to be without Julius Randle and without O.G. Anunoby due to injuries as well. New York hopes that they could have those two return for the start of the playoffs as they are also in danger of losing the 4th seed.

The Knicks would rally back from 21 points to bring the competition to the Heat. Unfortunately for New York, they didn't have Rozier on their side who was the main difference in this game. He would beat the shot clock with 34 seconds remaining which closed the door on the New York comeback. Miami would go ahead and win 109-99 inching closer to that six spot.

Next up for the Miami Heat is a home game welcoming the Philadelphia 76ers to the Kaseya Center.
