Inter Miami CF vs NYCFC

 Inter Miami CF vs NYCFC

Once again there will be no Lionel Messi for Inter Miami CF as he continues to rehab a muscular injury as they seem to be monitoring his playing time this season and saving him for important matches. Miami comes into this league match after falling on the road to the New York Red Bulls. The Herons also completed the signing of Marcelo Weigandt from Argentina this week. Miami welcomed New York City FC to Chase Stadium for an eastern conference matchup.

Without Lionel Messi the story continues to be will Luis Suarez continue this incredible run of form he's been on since the start of the season. The defense continues to be vulnerable but the signing of Weigandt can hopefully bring some stability to the back line. It was all Miami to start off the match dominating what is a weaker NYCFC team compared to years past.

In just the 15th minute of the game it was who else but Luis Suarez extending his scoring streak and giving his team the early 1-0 lead. Julian Gressel would serve a perfect cross into the center of the box where Suarez would get a perfect header finding the back of the net with nothing the keeper could do about it.

A mistake in the backline which saw a giveaway lead to a counter attack by NYCFC and result in the match equalizer. Miami would give the ball away in its own half on the left flank which saw a through ball played for Alonso Martinez who punished the Herons to make it 1-1. There was not much action in this match and that would be the final scoreline in what should've been a Miami victory.

Next up for Inter Miami CF is a Champions Cup match welcoming Monterrey to Chase Stadium.
