Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers
It was a great weekend for the Heat in Detroit taking both games with one of them consisting of a game winner from Bam Adebayo. This set up the important conference matchup between the Heat and the 76ers who are battling for positioning in the Eastern Conference. A win for Miami would mean they would move into the 6th spot. There is only 14 games remaining in the season with the Heat trying to avoid being a play-in team again.
Bam Adebayo once again was the lead man for the second game in a row finishing the game with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Terry Rozier improved from his last time out and would also finish the game with 20 points. Duncan Robinson after going for a season high 30 points would go for only 3 points. Haywood Highsmith would have 11 points in the starting lineup with Caleb Martin coming off the bench with 13 points.
Tyrese Maxey and Kelly Oubre Jr would both go for double-doubles which was the main factor in the 76ers success on Monday night. Kyle Lowry who played his first game against the Heat and had a diving play into the stands finished with 16 points. Buddy Hield coming off the bench with 12 points being 4-10 from the field.
Entering the 4th quarter it was the Heat who trailed by 14 points until they hit a 20-8 run and things were looking positive for Miami. Miami was without Jimmy Butler who probably could've finished this run off against Philadelphia. Sixers were also without Joel Embiid but an important triple from Lowry helped Philly not collapse.
The Heat would fall 98-91 and fall to 8th in the standings which frustrated Miami fans who really wanted to get that 6 spot. The Heat and 76ers could be a potential play-in game so this may not be the last we've seen of these two teams. The Heat look forward to getting healthy and coming back home from a road trip to get back on track.
Next up for the Miami Heat is a road game visiting the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night.
