Miami Heat vs Detroit Pistons
It's been a difficult and frustrating stretch of games for Heat fans but finally they were back in the winners column after a victory against Detroit and have Detroit once again. Miami is still struggling with the injury bug missing Tyler Herro and Kevin Love, they would also be without Jimmy Butler in this game against the Pistons.
Duncan Robinson would go for a season high of 30 points going for 10 of 15 shooting. Bam Adebayo was back like his normal self scoring 20 points and grabbing 17 rebounds. Terry Rozier would follow with 17 points and the rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr finishing with 15 points. It was a nice string of offense from the Miami starting five without Butler.
Cade Cunningham would have 17 points for the Pistons leading his team with 9 assists as well but struggled from downtown going one for six. The story of the night for Detroit was at halftime where they honored their 2004 NBA Championship team. The Pistons did manage to keep the game close all the way to the end.
Robinson would covert a four-point play with just two minutes remaining in the game giving Miami a 101-96 lead. Isaiah Stewart would bring Detroit right back into it after nailing a three-pointer making it 101-99. Cunningham would go ahead and tie the game with a layup with the Pistons having a chance to take the lead after Robinson turned the ball over.
Cunningham would miss a three-pointer with the rebound going to Rozier with just nine seconds left racing up the court with a pass back to Adebayo. Bam would drill a three pointer at the buzzer making it 104-101 for the Heat victory. This sets up a crucial game against Philadelphia for a chance for 6th place in the Eastern Conference.
Next up for the Miami Heat is a road game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night.
