Miami Heat vs Cleveland Cavaliers
After a comeback against the Sixers for the Heat, it was not enough as they fall in the game and fall down in the standings to 8th in the Eastern Conference. More bad news would arrive for the final game of this road trip that Bam Adebayo would be out as he continues to heal from the back contusion. Jimmy Butler would return to the lineup short-handed to face a really good Cleveland Cavaliers team.
Butler returned to the lineup in a big way contributing with 30 points being one of his best performances as of late. Terry Rozier followed with 24 points coming up with some big time plays and shots down the stretch. Nikola Jovic who has been progressing well ever since he was added into the rotation finished the night with 14 points. Miami remains without Tyler Herro and Kevin Love due to injuries with Love expected to return before Herro.
For the Cleveland Cavaliers who currently sit in the 3rd spot in the Eastern Conference it was Jarrett Allen leading the way with 25 points and 20 rebounds. Darius Garland would be the second lead scorer finishing the night with 20 points with some big plays in the 4th. Georges Niang came alive in the 4th scoring 10 out of his 18 in the quarter. Caris LeVert would tack on 16 points and 12 assists another solid outing for him.
The Heat opened up a 10-point and looked like they would be heading back into the win column but Cleveland had something to say about that. Between Niang and Garland the Cavaliers would be able to make a comeback and even take the lead. Back-to-back losses would've been brutal for the Heat but would be given the excuse of being short-handed.
Rozier would come up big time scoring nine points in the final minute of the game. One of them would be a three-pointer in which he was fouled which would allow for a four-point play. He drilled the free throw completing the play. Miami would go back in the win column with the 107-104 victory over Cleveland and with a Philadelphia loss would move up one spot to 7th in the East.
Next up for the Miami Heat is a home game welcoming the New Orleans Pelicans to the Kaseya Center.
