Miami Heat vs Sacramento Kings
The Miami Heat have gone mostly the entire month of January without a win with the losing streak now standing at seven. One more loss and it would be the worse losing streak in franchise history in the last 17 years. They had a tall challenge ahead of them as they welcomed the Sacramento Kings to the Kaseya Center, a team that has played well all year.
The Jimmy Butler that we all love and know was out in full force picking up 31 points shooting 10 of 14 from the field plus seven rebounds. Josh Richardson showed his value as well going 6 of 10 from beyond the arch and finished with a season-high of 24 points. Bam Adebayo was back to his old ways after an off night last game and finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Tyler Herro would be the fourth player in double-figures scoring 14 points on the night.
Domantas Sabots who was seen having a night out in Miami the night before the game would finish with 19 points, 17 rebounds, and 13 assists for the Kings. This would be his 13th triple-double of the season and now just two away from breaking Oscar Robertsons franchise record. Keegan Murray was the Kings highest scorer capping off with 33 points. Kevin Huerter had 14 points followed by De'Aaron Fox with 13 points.
The Heat reportedly had a very emotional film session on Tuesday and things that needed to be said were said according to members on the team. They would be without Duncan Robinson due to concussion protocol but that didn't stop them. Miami would set a franchise record by having 40 assists on the night. Sacramento has been playing better than Miami this season but Heat culture showed last night and outworked Sacramento.
The Kings were down 18 in the second quarter and right before the half went on a 24-10 run closing that gap bringing it to four. The Heat were up as many as just three in the 3rd quarter but three-point shooting from Richardson in the fourth helped seal the deal. Miami would break the streak and defeat Sacramento 115-106.
Next up for the Miami Heat is a road game visiting the Washington Wizards on Friday.
