Lewis Hamilton set to join Ferrari in 2025

The Formula One offseason has been quiet with the grid staying the same aside from some principal changes and track changes but the major news would arrive this morning on deadline day. If we recap this past year, Lewis Hamilton had a tough year with Mercedes despite finishing second in the team championship. There was rumors of him leaving but he quickly shot those rumors down himself.

Well those rumors are finally true and has sent the internet plus the F1 world into a frenzy. After six world championships together, Hamilton and Toto Wolff will be splitting up as the Brit has decided to leave Mercedes and join Ferrari in 2025.

You ask yourself what does this mean for Mercedes and Ferrari ? Well Hamilton will have one last dance with Mercedes during the 2024 season. Ferrari recently re-signed Charles Leclerc leaving Carlos Sainz contract without clarity but now it's been made clear. Sainz will race for Ferrari one more year during the 2024 season and then will depart making way for the Leclerc-Hamilton partnership.

Carlos Sainz reportedly will join the brand new Audi F1 team but before that he will have one more chance to chase a championship with the Italian team alongside Charles. The Sainz-Leclerc partnership is the closest Ferrari has been to earning another championship especially in 2021. The question that remains is how will Hamilton adapt to being the #2 guy as Leclerc is Ferrari's golden boy.

No doubt this leaves us excited to see some F1 racing as the season begins on March 2nd with the Bahrain Grand Prix.
