Miami Heat vs Milwaukee Bucks
We continue to think about and send our prayers to Jimmy Butler and his family as he was ruled out for this game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Miami probably won't see Butler until after the All-Star break. These final two road games before the break are going to be extremely tough as Miami starts out facing Milwaukee while being shorthanded. The Bucks have been struggling under new head coach Doc Rivers.
Many people put Nikola Jovic on the trade block during the trade deadline but boy did he show up big in Milwaukee. Jovic would go for a career-high 24 points leading the team in scoring raising eyebrows. Bam Adebayo would go for his second triple-double of the season with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists. Duncan Robinson was on fire finishing the night with 23 points and included some smack talk.
Milwaukee star man Giannis Antetokounmpo finished the game with 23 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists. Something that rarely happens is that Giannis did not find his way to the free throw line all night. Kris Middleton would miss his fourth straight game with a sprained left ankle. The other star piece Damian Lillard would cap the night off with 16 points.
This game truly showed what Heat culture is all about. They didn't enter this game saying we're shorthanded they entered the game saying next man up and that's exactly what happened. Miami shot 51% from the floor going 19 of 40 beyond the arch and had a lead as big as 31 points. The Heat controlled the tempo of the game on both ends of the floor.
The Bucks struggled to keep up and it was noticeable that just the night before they had faced the defending champion Denver Nuggets. It was all Miami Heat from the beginning to the end capturing the victory 123-97 shocking people around the league. Miami jumps right back into the 7th place in the Eastern Conference.
Next up for the Miami Heat is a road game facing the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night.
