Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics

 Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics

Before the big game in Las Vegas there was a big game in South Florida at the Kaseya Center between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics. Before the game it was reported that Jimmy Butler would be missing the game due to personal reasons which later was revealed as a death in the family. Miami comes into this game after a 116-104 victory over San Antonio.

Tyler Herro would be the reason Miami would keep this game close as he scored 22 out of his 24 points in the second half. Bam Adebayo would follow with 22 points and then both Duncan Robinson and Caleb Martin would conclude the afternoon with 15 points. Jaime Jaquez Jr would have one of the worst performances in the season finishing with 6 points.

For the league leading Boston Celtics it was Jayson Tatum who led the way with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists. Boston's most important piece to the puzzle Kristaps Porzingis would tack on 25 points followed by Jaylen Brown with 20 points. Jrue Holiday who had a great afternoon beyond the arch would finish with 15 points.

Missing your star player in Butler is always a loss but it would get worse for Miami and Josh Richardson and Terry Rozier would exit this game with injuries. Both players will receive MRI's and Rozier had 13 points when he exited. The typical Boston and Miami game would have flares arise and this time it was between Brown and Robinson. Brown would be assessed a flagrant one foul for purposely shoving Robinson down by the shoulder with the two exchanging words after.

With Miami now missing three players in this game they were able to make a comeback down 15 behind Herro. It would not be enough as in the dying moments it would be Tatum and Porzingis hitting clutch free throws to defeat the Heat by a final score of 110-106. The Heat showed tremendous effort while being short-handed but will fall back to 8th in the Eastern Conference with the loss.

Next up for the Miami Heat is a road game facing the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday.
