 Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers

The Heat shocked the league with a surprising victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on the road while being short-handed. They also did it in a shocking manner with a blowout and limiting Giannis to zero free throws. The next night will be another challenge on the road facing the Philadelphia 76ers being short-handed once again. Back-to-back victories over top Eastern Conference teams would be a perfect way to start All-Star break.

Bam Adebayo stepped his game up ending the night with 23 points and 14 rebounds. Tyler Herro would follow with an impressive streak of double-digit games finishing this one with 23 points also. After the incident with Jaylen Brown, Duncan Robinson has come alive and would end the night with 20 points. Off the bench it was Haywood Highsmith with 16 points and Jaime Jaquez Jr with 12 points.

Sixers rising star Tyrese Maxey would go off for 30 points with Joel Embiid still missing due to a procedure for his left knee meniscus. Buddy Hield who recently joined Philadelphia would cap off the night with 22 points and 10 assists. Paul Reed who was in for Embiid added 18 points and 12 rebounds.

It was a back and fourth game all night long with 21 lead changes and 15 ties. Maxey would leave the game in the 3rd quarter with a rolled ankle but would return in the 4th quarter. Miami would take a one-point lead in the 4th after a stretch of successful possessions which included a three-pointer from Highsmith, layup from Herro, three-pointer from Robinson, and a dunk from Adebayo.

The 76ers were able to bring the game within three in the final minute but the Heat then followed with the next three baskets due to second chance opportunities. Miami would go on to defeat Philadelphia 109-104 to end the first-half off the season in an impressive manner. Miami would retain the 7th spot in the Eastern Conference.

Next up for the Miami Heat is a road game visiting the New Orleans Pelicans on February 23rd.
