Miami Heat vs Toronto Raptors
A three-game winning streak would be put to the test on Wednesday night when the Miami Heat traveled across the border up north to face the Toronto Raptors. Hours before tipoff the news broke that the Raptors would be trading Pascal Siakam to the Indiana Pacers. Toronto is currently 16-25 sitting 12th in the Eastern Conference.
It was ugly from the start for Miami with Jimmy Butler only scoring 16 points followed by Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo who both shared 16 points. Duncan Robinson who was made untouchable in trade talks for the Heat finished the game with 14 points. Jaime Jaquez Jr missed his second game with a strained groin and Kevin Love who also missed his second game due to a sore knee.
Gary Trent Jr would have his best game this season having a high of 28 points with RJ Barrett scoring 26 points. Scottie Barnes scored 20 points and Immanuel Quickley finishing the night with 17 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds. They all returned to the lineup after experiencing flu symptoms and would drain eight three pointers on nine attempts.
Since the beginning it was all Toronto Raptors and they never looked back as they never trailed not once in this game. The Raptors looked highly motivated to prove they can still be good after the news of the Siakam trade. The Heat had a season low of only six made three pointers with the main starters struggling to score.
Miami going 1-16 in the first half and 6-28 overall is not going to get it down from beyond the arch as the Raptors going 7-10 in just the first quarter. The Toronto Raptors would go on to defeat the Miami Heat 121-97 dropping the South Florida side to 6th in the Eastern Conference.
Next up for the Miami Heat is a home game welcoming the Atlanta Hawks to the Kaseya Center.
