Miami Heat vs Atlanta Hawks

 Miami Heat vs Atlanta Hawks

It was a very special night for the city of Miami as the Miami Heat organization retired the #40 of Udonis Haslem that will be hanging in the rafters of the Kaseya Center alongside Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Alonzo Mourning, Tim Hardaway, and Shaquille O'Neal. Haslem was never an NBA All-Star or an olympian but he embodied what Heat culture is and is also a three-time NBA champion from 2006, 2012, and 2013. He is the only player aside from Kobe Bryant and Dirk Nowitzki to be on the same franchise for 20+ years. On this very special night the Miami Heat welcomed in the Atlanta Hawks.

Tyler Herro who was celebrating his 24th birthday would score 25 points along with Jimmy Butler who would also go for 25. Bam Adebayo continues his form tacking on 21 points followed by Duncan Robinson with 14 points. For the first time in a while it was Caleb Martin who found himself in the starting lineup and finished the night with 10 points. With Martin getting the start it was the first time Kyle Lowry found himself coming off the bench.

Bogdan Bogdanovic would finish the night for the Atlanta Hawks scoring 17 points followed by Jalen Johnson adding on 15. Saddiq Bey would go for 14 points on the night and we can't forget the Hawks star player Dejounte Murray who led the team in scoring with 22 points. Murray has been in trade talks for the deadline as of late with the Miami Heat being a potential landing spot.

The Miami Heat enter this game on a huge streak of not having lost to any opponent in the southeast division but the Atlanta Hawks had something to say about that. The Hawks entered the game firing on all cylinders from beyond the arch and out rebounded Miami. The Heat offense looked very stagnant and slow with no answer to Atlanta's three point shooting.

The Heat were able to keep it close as the game went on their offense came alive thanks to Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro. Herro would make a three-pointer from the logo to give the Heat the lead in the closing minutes having Wade and Union put of their seats. Unfortunately, Murray had the last laugh hitting a three-pointer that would give the Hawks the 109-108 victory snapping Miami's streak.

Next up for the Miami Heat is a road game visiting the Orlando Magic on Sunday night.
