Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics
The Miami Heat are currently going through their worst stretch of basketball this season as they're currently on a four-game losing streak. Despite the big trade to get Terry Rozier, the body language on both sides of the ball has been poor. It also doesn't help that the toughest teams in the league are up next on the schedule for Miami. The Heat welcomed the league leading Boston Celtics to the Kaseya Center on Thursday night.
Despite the offense being a bit better compared to the night before against Memphis it was the defensive side of the ball that wasn't working. Miami shot 50% with Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo finishing the night with 19 points each. Jimmy Butler who has been short of himself as of recent finished the night with 17 points. Butler said post game that the team just needs to get back to having fun and doesn't know how they will get there but that they will get there.
For the Celtics it was Jayson Tatum leading the way with 26 points followed by Kristaps Porzingis with 19 points but exited the game due to an ankle injury. Jaylen Brown followed right behind with 18 points and important players like Jrue Holiday and Derrick White going for 17 and 15 points. It was a full team effort and served as a reminder that the Celtics are still hanging on to Miami destroying them in the Garden in Game 7 of the conference finals last season.
This game wasn't even close it was all Boston Celtics from the beginning to end. If you're the Heat it's very hard to do anything when the Celtics are shooting 64% from the field. It's not like the Heat were struggling offensively as they were shooting 50% and kept the game relatively close within 13. Boston was also defeating Miami on the glass 47-31. Pat Riley in attendance did not look like a happy camper and we expect Miami to still be active on the trade market especially after this game.
The Celtics would hand the Heat their fifth straight loss after they crushed them by a final score of 143-110. Boston is now 2-0 against Miami this season and currently hold the NBA's best record at 35-10 meanwhile Miami falls to 7th in the Eastern Conference with a 24-21 record. The upcoming schedule as well doesn't get any easier for the Heat.
Next up for the Miami Heat is a road trip visiting the New York Knicks on Saturday.
