Miami Heat vs Toronto Raptors

 Miami Heat vs Toronto Raptors

The Miami Heat split at the weekend with the Indiana Pacers taking one and losing the other as Miami are fresh from being eliminated from the inaugural in-season tournament by the Milwaukee Bucks. The Heat got much needed days of rest between Saturday night and Wednesday that would also allow for their injuries to heal. They took the trip up north to visit the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night looking to get back into the win column.

It was a season high for Caleb Martin who has battled injury so far this season but he came out to play against Toronto. Martin would go for 24 points and also had a career high of 12 rebounds. Duncan Robinson also had a nice game bringing in 21 points with 10 of those coming in the final quarter. Jimmy Butler would go for 19 points followed by Orlando Robinson with 15 points and Jaime Jaquez Jr as well with 15 points.

For the Toronto Raptors who have won the three previous meetings against Miami it was Pascal Siakam who dropped 30 points making it the fourth time this season he has accomplished that. OG Anunoby would follow with 23 points followed by Gary Trent Jr with 15 points and Scottie Barnes with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

There was a loud standing ovation for former Toronto Raptor Kyle Lowry who helped them bring their first NBA Championship and stated after the game that when he departs the sport he will sign a 1-day contract to retire as a Raptor. He was the only Heat player on the night who did not reach double digits in points.

The third quarter was the turning point of this game as Toronto committed seven turnovers leading to a 16-0 Heat run that included eight points from Butler. Orlando Robinson made a positive impact on the floor with Bam Adebayo still missing as well as Haywood Highsmith. The Heat would go on to defeat the Raptors 112-103 to improve to a 12-9 record.

Next up for the Miami Heat is a home game welcoming the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Kaseya Center on Friday night.
