Miami Heat vs Cleveland Cavaliers

 Miami Heat vs Cleveland Cavaliers

It was a good response by the Miami Heat on the road after falling to the Indiana Pacers at home. The Heat would make the trip to the six and defeat the Toronto Raptors. They would come back home and welcome the Cleveland Cavaliers who currently sit in 6th of the Eastern Conference. This is a good opportunity for Miami to take down a challenging conference opponent.

It was a low scoring affair for the Miami Heat at the Kaseya Center on Friday night as once again they were without Bam Adebayo, Haywood Highsmith, and Tyler Herro. Josh Richardson and Kyle Lowry would both go for 17 points meanwhile Jimmy Butler scored 16. Caleb Martin would contribute with 15 and the beloved former Cavalier Kevin Love would have 14 points with the rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr chipping in with 12 points.

Donovan Mitchell who was once a Miami Heat free agent target would drop 27 points on them with his teammate Darius Garland getting out of foul trouble to finish the game with 18 points. Georges Niang contributed with 13 points and former Miami Heat man Max Strus making his return would score 11 points.

Cleveland did a great job crashing the boards as they out rebounded Miami 51-37 and would have two 15-0 stretches in the game. Miami had built a 16-point lead but they're no strangers to blowing leads this season as once again it happened. The Cavaliers had the lead at the half by just one point but Mitchell would score 11 out of the Cavs 13 points in the third quarter.

The Heat would go on to lose the game 111-99 and makes it the fourth game they have lost after having built a lead of at least 16 points. They were able to cut the lead to nine in the fourth quarter but it was the best they could do. Miami falls to 0-5 in games this season were they fail to score 100 points.

Next up for the Miami Heat is a road game visiting the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night.
