Miami Heat vs Indiana Pacers
The Miami Heat were back to winning ways after defeating the Indiana Pacers with an impressive fourth quarter. With a day off the Heat once again face the Indiana Pacers at home with a chance to make it back-to-back victories. Miami continues to struggle with injuries that has been impacting the fluctuation of the starting lineup.
Indiana entered this game worried that they would not have their leading scorer Tyrese Haliburton but his teammates would step up and come to the rescue. Bruce Brown would clock in with 30 points with Obi Toppin adding 22 points. This would make up for the 40+ points that Haliburton dropped against Miami in the previous game.
For Miami it was Jimmy Butler once again leading the way with 33 points followed by Caleb Martin with another decent game with 18 points. They definitely missed Bam Adebayo who was out due to a bruised hip and then would suffer the loss of Haywood Highsmith in just three minutes because of back spasms. The list continues to grow for Miami but a much needed couple days off will arrive after this game against Indiana.
The Pacers would shoot 66% from the field in this game making it the second best rate in franchise history. The first would be in 2017 when they shot 67% against the Minnesota Timberwolves and was the first team a Miami Heat team has allowed such a high shooting percentage since the Lakers in 1988.
Indiana would outscore Miami in the 2nd and 3rd quarters making 23 out of 28 shots in the paint outscoring them 81-67 through 24 minutes. These two quarters proved the difference as the Pacers would go on to defeat the Heat 144-129.
Up next for the Miami Heat is a road game visiting the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday.
