Miami Heat vs Indiana Pacers

 Miami Heat vs Indiana Pacers

A three-game losing streak for the Miami Heat extended after losing their first in-season tournament game to the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night. Miami would then welcome the Indiana Pacers to the Kaseya Center on Thursday night. This is the first meeting between Miami and Indiana this season.

Jimmy Butler was back in the lineup for Miami and he led the way with 36 points. The rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr had another great night with 24 points really adapting to the NBA well. Josh Richardson would contribute with 19 points meanwhile Duncan Robinson would have 16 on the night.

For the Indiana Pacers it was Tyrese Haliburton who cooked the Heat with a career-high 44 points as he continues to impress this season. Obi Toppin would follow that with 25 of his own with Bruce Brown getting 15 and Buddy Hield scoring 12.

The Heat have been criticized so much so far this season for giving up late leads but not this time. Miami trailed by 13 early in the 4th quarter which turned out to be a wild finish. They would overcome the deficit and it was the Pacers who soon found themselves trailing by 16.

A 45-point fourth quarter was the second most points scored in a quarter in team history second to a 48-point quarter in 1989. The Heat would go on to defeat the Pacers 142-132 breaking the three-game losing streak.

Next up for the Miami Heat is the Indiana Pacers once again at the Kaseya Center on Saturday night.
