Miami Heat vs Charlotte Hornets
Division matchups are always tricky and we've got nothing less this season in the Southeast Division where the Miami Heat currently sit second behind the Orlando Magic. Miami sneaked out of Charlotte with a victory on Monday defeating them 116-114. They once again would play Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night but this time in Miami.
Winning back-to-back games has been difficult for the Heat this season but thankfully the three point shooting for Miami on Wednesday night helped them change that narrative.
Duncan Robinson had another fantastic game scoring 23 points while the rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr is making his case for best rookie in the league dropping 17 points. The veteran Kyle Lowry also had a nice game dropping 17 points as well. Jimmy Butler would go for 15 points and 10 assists with Jamal Cain adding 14 points. Thomas Bryant would finish the game with 11 points as he had an impressive game in the paint.
It was Terry Rozier once again leading the way for the Hornets scoring 28 points followed by Gordon Hayward who finished the game with 20 points. Miles Bridges would cap off the game with 19 points closely followed by Brandon Miller who would finish with 18 points.
The Miami Heat bench came to play and it would also help that they scored 32 points off of 21 Charlotte turnovers. Robinson would drain six three-pointers tying his season best and Miami is currently 8-1 when Duncan shoots that way. Lowry also shot well being 5 for 5 from the floor while being perfect from downtime and the free throw line.
Despite scoring the games first four points the Hornets really missed PJ Washington who exited the game with a shoulder injury just four minutes into the game. The Heat would go on to defeat the Hornets 115-104 improving to 14-10 on the season with Charlotte falling to 7-15.
Next up for the Miami Heat is a home game welcoming the Chicago Bulls to the Kaseya Center.
