Miami Dolphins vs Tennessee Titans
Miami Dolphins fans have been on cloud nine this season with how well their team has been performing putting up historic numbers on the offensive side of the ball. They took control of the entire AFC after the Kansas City Chiefs lost and Miami picked up a huge 45-15 victory over the Commanders. The Dolphins would welcome the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football and what should be a win.
The most explosive offense in the NFL was kept in check for most of the game against a struggling 4-8 Titans team but they came to play. RB Raheem Mostert finished the night with two touchdowns off of 21 carries for 96 yards. De'Von Achane would have just 7 carries making up 47 yards with no touchdowns. QB Tua Tagavailoa would go for 23 of 33 for 240 yards but would fail to have any touchdowns.
With no Ryan Tannehil it would be rookie QB Will Levis leading the charge and would finish the game 23 of 38 for 327 yards with one touchdown and one interception. RB Derrick Henry would go for 34 yards on 17 carries with two touchdowns. Tyjae Spears would work with just 7 carries earning 29 yards on the night with 0 touchdowns.
The injury bug continues to plague the Dolphins and it certainly did in this game with Connor Williams being knocked out of the game and the fear is that it's a season ending ACL injury. Tyreek Hill had an ankle injury but would return with limited use. Tagavailoa struggled to get anything going without Hill on the field.
All tied up 13-13 a muffed punt return as well as a fumble by Levis would put the Dolphins up two scores and what would happen next would be shocking. The Titans would go on to score plus a two-point conversion making it a one score game. Miami would have to punt on their next possession and the Titans would score again on that drive taking a one point lead.
Tagavailoa and Miami would have one more chance but he would be brought down on 4th down giving the Titans the 28-27 victory on the road improving to 5-8. Miami would blow a 14-point lead under 5 minutes in the 4th quarter and would fall to 9-4 on the year.
Next up for the Miami Dolphins is a home game welcoming the New York Jets to Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday.
